==The Purchase of the Cornmill Millpond 1952==
In 1952 George and Sarah Lucas [[Media:1951_Abstract_of_the_Title_of_Stuarts_.pdf| bought the Millpond]]  off Stuarts of Sowerby Bridge (this may have been the holding company for Lindley's. This document is interesting because it shows how The Cornmill (the millpond being part and parcel of this property) bought by Robert Thompson in the 1850's was left to his wife, but on her death all the heirs named in her will had died as had the heirs of her heirs. The mill passed to Robert's next closest relatives, his two sisters Julia Horsfall and Mary Thompson.
